The Görtz Haus Gallery is located in an elegant landmark stone building that served as the home of St. Peter Lutheran Church from 1937 to 2001. Having outgrown this space, the church moved to a new facility. The notable structure was left susceptible to demolition -- but perseverance saved this historic building from demise, and in April 2002 the gracious space was reopened, unveiling a fabulous new bistro, art gallery, frame shoppe and floral shoppe. Original works of art, jewelry, gifts, home decor, and beautiful flower arrangements enhance a fine dining experience in the historic Governors District of Grimes. The picturesque setting of Görtz Haus makes it the perfect venue for a Christmas party, baby shower, birthday party, family reunion or other special events.
